UTUR Bass Drum
What is UTUR? Read about it here.
Size: 18 x 9
A skeleton made of Okumé multiplex that is skinned with one sheet of 1,5 mm birch triplex. The construction is made in such a way that the birch has maximum surface to resonate, but the drum itself is strong and rigid. The birch is stained and oiled and it got a few coats of shellac and beeswax. The lugs are handmade from aluminum, beech and brass inserts. The beech hoops are made in house too. As you can see I had my own take on the so called clamp-on bassdrums spurs; these are made of steel and are very sturdy. The spurs can be made longer in case one wants to use this drum with a riser.
Prize: commissioned, thus sold.
