Farmers Drum II

Size: 14 x 7 inches. Stave drum built from complex staves. On the outside there's mohagony and acacia-root that I harvested and milled myself. On the inside there's reclaimed oak from antique furniture. The hardware is all handmade from raw steel and treated with heat and wax. I wanted to make the hardware with as less complicated machines as possible, more or less like a farmer would in his barn, building a drum for the first time in his life. The batterside has a round-over outside and a 45 inside, the reso-side has a sharp double 45. The shell is finished with linseed-oil, shellack and beeswax. Prize: Sold.
