Chop Wood

Size: 14 x 7 inch. This stave drum is made from staves of birch firewood that I first copped to size roughly with an axe. Then using a complicated jig an extra pieces of birch I was able to make perfect staves while leaving the outside face rough. The wood is finished with linseed oil, shellack, and Ciranova Zero-Gloss, a very hard 2K matte laquer. All hardware is hand made from steel and finished with the same Ciranova and bees-wax.
